Do I need prior fishing experience to book a charter?

No prior fishing experience is required to book a charter with Raro Fishing Charters. Our experienced captains and crew are happy to provide guidance and assistance to anglers of all levels, ensuring that everyone has a memorable and successful fishing trip.

What happens to the fish caught?

All fish caught is the boats but we cut you up very generous portion of fillets to take home. Roughly 1-2 kilos per angler.

What is included in the charter package?

Our charter packages include all the necessary fishing equipment, bait, and tackle, as well as the expertise of our experienced captains and crew. Depending on the package you choose, refreshments and snacks may also be provided. Please refer to the specific charter package for details on inclusions.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of my charter?

The safety and comfort of our guests are our top priorities. If the weather conditions are deemed unsafe or unfavorable for fishing on the scheduled day of your charter, we will work with you to reschedule your trip for a better time. We closely monitor weather forecasts and will keep you informed of any changes or cancellations.

Are children allowed on the fishing charters?

Yes, children are welcome on our fishing charters! Fishing can be a fun and educational experience for kids of all ages. Our crew is experienced in working with families and will ensure that everyone, including children, has a safe and enjoyable time on the water. Please let us know in advance if you will be bringing children so that we can make appropriate accommodations.

Can I bring my own fishing equipment?

While we provide all the necessary fishing equipment, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Just let us know in advance, and our crew will ensure that your equipment is properly accommodated on the charter.

How far in advance should I book my fishing charter?

We recommend booking your fishing charter as far in advance as possible, especially during peak seasons or holidays when availability may be limited. However, we understand that plans can change, so we also accommodate last-minute bookings whenever possible. Contact us to check availability and schedule your charter today!

Do we need our own gear for GT Fishing?

Yes, you will need your own gear for GT fishing, we supply the bait.

What sort of boat is it?

Our boat is custom-built boat here in Rarotonga. It is an 8-meter aluminum pontoon boat.

Is there a toilet onboard?

Unfortunately, no we do not have toilet facilities onboard. There are public toilets available at both wharfs we depart from.

Which wharf do you depart from?

We depart from both, location is deteremined by the weather e.g if Avana wharf is too rough we will depart from Avatiu wharf in town.

Things to bring:

We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and any personal items you may need for a day out on the water. Additionally, you may want to bring a light jacket or raincoat, as weather conditions can change unexpectedly. Feel free to bring any snacks or beverages you’d like to enjoy during the trip.
